Such a cute story! I found it while searching for info on which chickens lay blue eggs. This sounds so much like my life with my husband before we moved to sweden. We had to give our chickens away, as there are strict regulations for importing animals to Sweden, but now this next weekend we are building a big chicken pen....and I am hoping to get some special chicken's that lay that elusive blue egg! I think I might need to get a red bucket too, just because the story was so cute! Thanks again!

our kids had calves for calf club day at our local school and we could never eat them! Our friendly farmer would exchange them for us. One used to go into their milking shed and line up to be milked.
They can be a bit dangerous too when they grow up as pets. I can remember a yearling who lifted our daughter up against the fence with its head between her legs.

What was it like. I've only ever eaten cold dead eggs myself.

Our neighbor gave us a tray with 'chicken grit' in it, which I'd never heard of. I was wondering where I could buy some more. Maybe I just need to go drive out to Palliser Bay and start collecting shells.

DELICIOUS. So far the eggs have made it into one loaf of gluten-free bread (special recipe = yum) and then three hard boiled eggs we had with visiting city friends.

Rick said, "I'm not ready to eat those eggs. Yet." So I think he'll come around.
