When a major international software organization decides it wants to interview you, you thank the universe. Or at least I did.
WordPress.com, my blogging software, has just published a feature article about ‘Moon over Martinborough’ becoming a book from Random House New Zealand.

From Blog to Book: Moon over Martinborough
Thanks WordPress.com!

Of course an international software organization would want to interview you, you are soon to be a well-known book author! Way to Go.
Nice of you to say!
Great to see some more Kiwi content doing well on WordPress…
Yes, go Kiwi Kontent! er, Content…
Great to see a Kiwi featured on wordpress, well done!
I’m only an honorary Kiwi but I’m happy to be claimed. :-)
I have read it and like your stories
Thanks Evi!
Hi Jared, I read your story and can relate a little as I too moved from my home country (Ireland) to the U.S. over 15 years ago. I am looking forward to your future blogs!
Well at least between you and me we’ve balanced out U.S. immigration to a zero sum gain! We’ve been here since 2003 and we’re loving it. It’s fantastic living in a country that’s ‘foreign’ isn’t it?
Yes, I love living in the U.S. I think everyone should travel and go outside their comfort zone. It opens your eyes up and gives you a more worldly view on life. I know you are in New Zealand but I just wanted to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
Wow loving the blog, Im relatively new to blogging and in the middle of writing my first cook book freelance. Its always great to hear a success story every so often. Keep up the good work and i will be certainly following your stories from now on,
Thank you x
Thanks Paul. Best of luck with your blog!
No worries, When i have finished my book and when i have found a decent publisher i will be sure to send you a copy, as it has been a pleasure talking to you. hope everything is well in New Zealand, and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Paul Edwards
Wow
It ‘s so inspiring!!
I hope to also publish book one day :)
Where can I read the book?
Thanks so much. Good luck to you! ‘Moon over Martinborough – the book’ will be released in June 2013. A print version will be available in New Zealand (and internationally through NZ websites such as Fishpond and Mighty Ape), and an e-book will be available internationally. Fingers crossed it gets picked up by publishers overseas!
I’ll wait
I wish you good luck
What a great story ~ a huge inspiration ~ congratulations :)
Thanks Polly. And I hope you have success with your poetry and prose. It’s great you’re putting it out there over on your blog. As they say in NZ, “Good on ya.”
I’m so impressed, but not surprised as this is a beautifully written blog.
Aw, Casalba! You’ve been so kind to follow my blog for so long!
Great blog!! Congrats!
Thank you!
Hi there Jared. I am glad that I found your blog. Great news about the book and I shall keep an eye out for a copy when it is published.
I have lived in Wellington and the Kapiti Coast for some 40 years now and know Martinborough so well. I shall also look out for your olive oil. Where can I buy some? Again congratulations on your success and from a transplanted English woman, keep writing and enjoying your life. And say hello to your partner too. He has no doubt been instrumental in helping you gain success. :)
Thanks so much. And yes, my partner has been a huge support. Our oil is available online via our online shop, or at any of the stockists listed on our olive oil page.
Is your olive grove open to the public?
I’m sorry, our grove isn’t open to the public. I recommend visiting Olivo, which is not far from here. Helen there appears in my blog as ‘Helen the Olive Angel of Olivo‘ and she’s fantastic. They have a purpose-built tasting room and they do great grove tours – http://www.olivo.co.nz
